The average difference in number of goals scored during the first 4 days (group matches) was 11.94. The largest difference belongs to the match between Norway and Great Britain, 52:0. It means Norway almost scored twice every minute, ouch!
The average difference of the last 4 days (placement matches) is 5.81. The 50% drop in the score differences meant a lot more exciting matches with levelled opponents. During these days 8 matches ended with sudden death and 2 with penalty shootouts. Wow!
There are clear differences between the nations based on the background and culture of the game and it can be observed in the style they play.
